The Valenzi Foundation is a no-profit organization created in May 2009; the main purpose of the foundation is to create in Naples an internationally relevant, politically neutral institution, working in the cultural and social fields. The aim of the Foundation is to protect and consolidate Maurizio Valenzi’s cultural and political heritage, promoting, developing and spreading the ideas of progress, justice and freedom which influenced his works, not only for his political activity but also for his artistic interests and international relations. Founders of the institution are Lucia and Marco, Maurizio Valenzi’s sons, respectively President and Vice- president of the Foundation.
Among the statutory purposes, addressed primarily to cultural, social and searching projects, there are:
• The promotion of initiatives against every form of marginalization and racism;
• The promotion of initiatives for children and disadvantaged people because of physical, psychic and socio-economical conditions;
• The arrangement of the existing material, with the purpose to constitute the Valenzi Archive, editing the papers of works and correspondence of Maurizio and Litza Valenzi;
• The valorisation of Maurizio Valenzi’s painting collection and the other art objects;
• The promotion of a culture of freedom and of Mediterranean values in the context of a new idea of the Europe;
• The increase of the awareness of the cultural, artistic, historical and environmental heritage, of the sustainable development, of the new civil social and environmental rights and of the equal opportunities;
• The development of the culture of responsibility and of meritocracy at every level, appropriate to manage the challenges of modernity and of globalization;
• The promotion of studies, publications and scholarships.
Italian and foreign personalities of the political, cultural and entrepreneurial sectors work in the foundation, through the Committee of Honour, Steering Committee and Scientific Committees.
